HOUSE OF COMMONS

I have been a member of the Bexley Cricket Club now for forty years and I have always greatly enjoyed its friendly, family atmosphere.
Although the Bexley cricket ground is only thirteen miles from the centre of London, it has a delightfully peaceful and secluded setting. It still retains much of the character of a traditional village cricket club, flanked as it is by splendid trees with the Church and the old mill in the distance.
I am glad the story of the Club has now been published.

I knew that many famous cricketers, including Dr W G Grace

had played at the ground, but I was particularly interested to learn that my-friend and colleague, Lord Horne, had played at Bexley, and had in fact scored a half-century in Cricket
Week.

The Club has played a major part in the sporting life

of the community for the best part of 200 years. my good wishes for its continued success.

I send all my good wishes for its continued success.
