Inter club 5th XI 6th XI

BEXLEY CC are back at LORING HALL

Without a hitch cricket returned to Loring Hall on Saturday with the inter club friendly between the 5ths and 6ths. A good crowd were in attendance for a few short speeches which included thanks to our fondly remembered ex president Brian Kennett and the grounds and pavilion committee members for their efforts in returning the second square to fit for purpose play and many other improvements to the Loring Hall facility, We now have a good working relationship with Goldsmiths College and the groundsmen have worked wonders getting the square prepared. Through much hard work by Paul Ladbrook, one of the club trustees, funding was obtained for covers, sight screens and a new scoreboard.

Those present witnessed a spirited game won by the 5th XI but the result was not important; the event was the icing on the cake. If Saturday was anything to go by the facility can only enhance the status of this great club and we can now move forward and look forward to regular cricket, both senior and colts at Loring Hall.

Thanks to all those involved and to Sarah Bleksley and her gang for providing a typical Bexley Tea.
