Following the success of All Stars Cricket in 2018, where over 80 children participated; it is back for 2019 and will be taking its prime spot again on Friday evenings, 5.30 to 6.30.
All Stars Cricket is a programme of jam-packed fun, activity and skills development for girls and boys from the ages of five to eight. The curriculum of fun cricket activities and games provides your children with the basic movement skills to begin a lifelong love of our sport and general physical activity.
For an hour a week over an eight-week period our fully trained and vetted All Stars activators who are all qualified cricket coaches will deliver game-based activities that teach basic cricket skills including catching, throwing and hitting moving balls and social skills such as teamwork and communication.
Held at Manor Way, these courses are the perfect way for your child to learn about cricket and make friends in a safe and, most importantly, fun environment. The programme is suitable for all children new to cricket and sport and is designed to teach the basic skills of the game. Participants will be better prepared to take part not only in cricket but in all sports. Every child will earn stars as the weeks progress that match the skills learned during the programme.
• Batting – hitting a moving ball
• Throwing – underarm and overarm
• Catching – small and large balls
• Bowling – overarm
• Running – lots of movement
• Teamwork – fun games with friends
• Communication – the basics of cricket
• Spirit of Cricket – how to respect others
For a cost of just £45 all participants will receive an All Stars Cricket branded pack including a cricket bat, ball, shirt, cap, backpack and water bottle as well as the eight weeks of training.
Sessions are on Friday nights starting from the 17th May from 5.30 to 6.30.
